WEEK 6 UPDATE!                                                                                                               Friday, 10/15/10

We have a great deal to share with you~~first of all: THANK YOU to all who are supporting WSOC with their scrip purchases! Our profits are up 26% from this time last year~~your continued patronage is working!! We have the completed results of last year's classroom earnings & these figures will be submitted to your Room Representatives.

Overall, our parents & community earned...drumroll please...$88,661.50 for the 2009-2010 from scrip purchases for the Operating Budget and Classroom Accounts~~WOW!!! We are now pushing the one million dollar mark for scrip earnings as we approach our 15th year at this site~~that is ONE MILLION DOLLARS EARNED FROM SCRIP PURCHASES BY YOU, ONE $10 GIFT CARD & GIFT CERTIFICATE AT A TIME! How exciting!!

The Angelitos Card is now in effect! It is ONLY from Thursday, October 14 (yesterday) to Wednesday, October 20 and this worthwhile fundraiser will not only save you 20% at participating stores & restaurants, but will generate $30 of scrip credit for EACH ANGELITOS CARD you purchase. In a nutshell, here's how it works:

• each Angelitos Card costs $60 (in stock in The Scrip Store)
• 50% scrip credit earned~that's $30!
• 100% tax-deductible donation (checks made out to 'Angelitos Card')
• for one week ONLY at South Coast Plaza: Thursday, 10/14 to Wednesday, 10/20
• the Card will allow you to save you 20% at participating stores & restaurants (use over and over again)
• there are almost 100 South Coast Plaza merchants involved, including The Gap & Banana Republic and Ruby's Diner!! 

AND ANOTHER BONUS: YOU'LL EARN ANOTHER 5% WHEN YOU USE SOUTH COAST PLAZA GIFT CERTIFICATES TO PAY FOR YOUR PURCHASES!! We have many denominations in stock: $20s, $25s, $50s, $100s & $200s.

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!!                                                                                       Monday, 09/13/10

What a wonderful time of the year: after summer days to catch our breath, vacation and enjoy family-and-friends-time, the students now are ready to begin again at the Waldorf School ~ how lucky we are to have such a wonderful school right here in Costa Mesa!

As we all begin our new routines, we invite all of our parents to 'think scrip' for your everyday and special purchases. Why? Let us count the ways...(!)

• Scrip doesn't cost you ANYTHING extra~~no fees, no hidden costs, no tricks! We buy gift cards & gift certificates from businesses in large quantities at a discount.
• Your familiy, in turn, earns scrip credit for every purchase. An example: if you buy a $100 Mother's Market gift card, you pay $100 for the card at The Scrip Store and then your family earns $10 (the 10% that Mother's Market gives WSOC).
• All gift cards & gift certificates are active, ready for immediate use. You can buy a gift card at WSOC and go shopping straight away from school~no waiting! 
• All scrip on the scrip order form is in stock, ready for you! (unless we are re-ordering & awaiting delivery).
• The Scrip Store is within the front school office, open every school day, from 8AM to 3PM.
• Payment for scrip=cash, personal check & ATM.
• We accept VISA and MasterCard with a small handling fee of 2.5%~this is just to cover the costs of the credit card transaction.
• We have over 100 merchants offered~everything from A to Z! The Scrip Store order form contains the most current information, updated as often as needed.
• We ALL need gas and groceries. We offer two gas merchants and over 10 places to buy food, including Mother's Market, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Henry's, Stater Brothers, Albertsons, Marukai, Gelson's, Vons/Pavilions/Safeway, Grower's Direct and Smart & Final! WOW!
• Even if your favorite merchant is not carried in scrip, here's a solution:
• We don't ask your family to spend any extra amounts~when you compare where you normally shop, we probably carry those stores in gift cards/gift certificates. Just consider scrip as an 'exchange system.'

and perhaps the #1 reason to 'think scrip'~~all purchases support your child(ren). When you exchange your dollars for gift cards or gift certificates at The Scrip Store, you have chosen to support your child(ren). Our families earned an extra $90,000+ for WSOC and the classrooms in 2009-2010. Please consider making the choice to support your child(ren) through your scrip purchases. Besides, it can be FUN!

How can I purchase scrip?

We strive to make it easy for you~your time is very important!

• ONLINE: use the scrip order form tab on this website. Online orders are the FIRST filled every scrip day-secure your scrip in case we are running low in stock. You may either pay for your scrip upon pick-up at The Scrip Store OR---> pay via checking/savings deduction or credit card.
• WALK-IN: The Scrip Store is open every school day from 8AM until 3PM.
• RESERVED: enjoy the convenience of having your scrip ready for you on a regular basis. For example: you know that you use $100 Mother's Market, $100 Arco Gasoline, $25 Smart 'n Final and $25 Starbuck's Coffee every 3 weeks, we will be happy to have this ready for you. YOU determine what scrip you want held & and what interval (weekly, monthly, every 3 weeks or a certain day: the 1st, the 15th or the last day of the month). We don't ask for any payment up front, we appreciate knowing that we'll have this ready for you!
• SHIPPED: for a minimal $5, we ship scrip to anywhere in the U.S. This allows your family & friends in other parts of the country to support WSOC and earning your family account scrip credit. This option is found in the online order form.

Is there a 'sale' at The Scrip Store??

Not really a 'sale' but a LOT OF INCREASED PERCENTAGES!! Just take a look at The Scrip Store order page: Jamba Juice ($25s) earning 12%, Gap/Old Navy/Piperlime/Banana Republic/Athleta ($75s only) earning 14% & Starbucks ($10s & $25s) earning 9%, just to name a few. These higher percentages are valid while supplies last (we've tried to buy ahead as much as funds allow~so don't miss out!)

We are happy to now add the ability to MAIL scrip!!!!

Yes, for only an additional $5.00, scrip can now be mailed to you or your loved ones throughout the United States. Gift cards are valid nationwide & do not expire (with two exceptions, as noted on the order form).

The process is simple:

• the scrip order is placed online
• payment is made either via a deduction from checking/savings account or VISA/MasterCard
• the mail-order choice is selected, along with the mailing information
• it will be sent Priority Mail, with delivery expected in 2-3 business days

My friend says she saves $$ at The Scrip Store...

Yes, that's correct — we have a bargain in The Scrip Store: Edwards Theater Tickets which are also valid at Regal Cinemas & United Artists Theater. Most theaters are charging $11.00+ for one movie ticket — buy it for only $8.00 for a savings of $3.00 or more!

 Tip of the Week

The Holidays will be here before you know it! Circulate The Scrip Store order form among your extended family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Just have them email their order via this website. Bring in their payment, deliver their scrip to them and your family receives their scrip profit. It's a win-win: you help them simplify their holiday shopping and your family earns scrip credit!
