As a non-profit, private school, the Waldorf School of Orange County relies on the assistance of parent volunteers, who are instrumental and necessary for the well being of our school. The Parent Association organizes the all-school parent volunteer effort.
WSOC was built upon thousands of community volunteer hours. We are very appreciative of this valued time and continue to rely on many hands to fulfill the work of the school. We hope that each family will identify a volunteer opportunity that meets the needs of their life and the school. There are many ways for you to volunteer for the school whether you are looking for a small, one-time commitment or are able to support a larger time commitment.
Some examples of volunteer opportunities are below. To explore yours in greater detail, contact the Parent Association
Admissions and Parent Education Event Hospitality
Work under the guidance of the Admissions Director to welcome potential families to our school. Events include Open Houses, Walks Through the Grades, Information Evenings, and Mornings in the Kindergarten. Coordinate food and drink and keep it looking nice throughout the event. We are looking for several teams of people to each manage a small number of events.
Maintaining and improving the aesthetics of our campus by working on special projects, from raking to planting to painting, under the direction of the Grounds Committee.
Faculty and Staff Appreciation
Supporting annual faculty and staff appreciation day event. Providing a meal for College of Teachers Meetings.
Supporting the success of our annual fundraising Gala, under the direction of the Fundraising Chair. The event is held in May, but the behind the scenes work starts long before. Skills include: coordination, donation procurement, decor, and the packaging of gifts. Come ready to have fun and to hustle!
New Family Welcome
Work under the guidance of the New Family Committee Chair to make our New Family events that much better. You do not have to cook, bake, or decorate to join this committee.
