Early Childhood Programs
At the heart of the Waldorf curriculum is the recognition of just how much children change from year to year. Importance is placed on all of these changes: physically, mentally and emotionally. Specialty teachers weave throughout the day following an intensive morning with the main lesson teacher. Rudolf Steiner believed that through the arts the academic subjects are enlivened and enriched. Waldorf Education is based on the understanding that the key to developing critical thinking is an active and creative imagination. Throughout the Waldorf experience the student is taught to respect nature, the earth and one another. |

3-Day Kindergarten
 |
Kindergarten is the bridge between family and school life. Our 3-day kindergarten program is for children between the ages of 3 years, 9 months and 4 years, 9 months by September of that incoming school year. By allowing the children to experience three consecutive days |
of socialization and play outside of the home, followed by four consecutive days in their home, it allows for a gradual and secure transition between the two. Each day begins with free play: play being the work of the young child. It is the time for the child to live in his / her imagination and to create houses from cloth, small villages in the sandbox, wood projects, puppet shows and dramas of all sorts. It also is the time to develop social skills along with playmates and teachers; learning to listen, to share, to help and to respect each other. Please read more about our kindergarten here. |

5-Day Kindergarten
 |
Great care is taken to provide an environment that brings nurturing, warmth, guidance and cooperation to a child’s world of fantasy and constructive imagination. Song, dance, story time, baking, gardening and dramatic play comprise the rhythm of the day. |
Learning through practical experience is a concept long advocated by progressive education leaders. Imitating their teachers, the child learns practical actions such as sweeping, sewing and cooking. Our 5-day kindergarten program is for children between the ages of 4 years, 9 months and 6 years old. Please read more about our kindergarten here. |
